Marble Heart Painting

Painting the marble hearth was a little risky because i wasn t sure if it would actually work but i painted and stenciled the tile hearth in my old home so i decided to chance it here too.

Lift the box and move it all around making the paint covered marble roll across the paper. The art process is very easy and the result is always beautiful. After about 8 10 runs i felt that this heart was complete. I m happy to report that the painted marble finish is beautiful and it s holding up fantastically.

The great thing about making these sweet marbled hearts is the children can pick whatever color combination they want. One alternative to replacement is to paint over the marble. If you ve got energetic preschoolers make sure to check out our busy kids. In painting you lose the natural stone touch but you can choose the color or even faux finish the look to create a marble look.

The entire upper body is used to hold and then tip the box lid back and forth while the marbles make paint tracks all over the paper heart. You can also dip all of your marbles in paint and let them all roll at the same time. We ve done active art activities in the past such as our splat glove painting and our spin art hearts. They have a fun sensory experience as well as end up with lovely preschool valentines cards.
